Como la Cigarra | Latinas in Bristol

Join us for Como la Cigarra (Like the Cicada), a heartfelt celebration of our long-term community partners Latinas in Bristol, running from 7 June to 10 August.

Through powerful storytelling, co-created artworks, and traditional textiles, this event highlights the vibrant culture, resilience, and heritage of Latin American communities in Bristol and beyond.

The title comes from a beloved Argentine song written by María Elena Walsh and famously performed by Mercedes Sosa—a song that has become an anthem of democracy, migration, and hope.

🦋 Like the cicada—emerging stronger after periods of silence—this exhibition honours the endurance and strength of communities who’ve found ways to reconnect, resist, and rise.
